I think it's a creative begin. It's very helpful for students.Because by this kind of analysis is made creatyvity of students.I hardly support it.

A comparative sampling of college newspapers may have given you additional foundations for identifying patterns in publications...a relatively easy sample to obtain.
I would suggest that your friends might not be a representative, 'random' , sample of either Belmont students or Belmont students on facebook... a qualified sampling might have included such factors as 'age of facebook.com' account, degree of engagement on facebook (i.e. xx number of friends, those who have posted at least x-times a month, member of x number of groups, geographic matches with the university's population, etc.)
